Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Blackpool, England. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal The role involves pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. Pay around £3,100 per month, based on your experience. Full-time with occasional weekends. Contact us to fix an interview.
