Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Chemung County, New York. The role involves: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Overtime paid at a premium rate.
