Sand plant operator — Cherokee County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Cherokee County, Texas. The job is on the moulding line. On the job you will handle: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring What we are looking for: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding 1+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $5,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
