Brick and block layer — Louisa County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Louisa County, Virginia. The role involves: • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge Requirements: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) We offer $4,000 per month plus benefits.
