We are recruiting: sand plant operator (Illinois)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Johnson County, Illinois. The role involves: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Rotating shifts.
