On the job you will handle: • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads You should have: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles 6+ years on the tools preferred. $8,500 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
