Core maker wanted in Brown County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Brown County, Illinois. The job is on the moulding line. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Your main tasks: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces Pay around $26 per hour, based on your experience. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Six days a week, one day off. Contact us to fix an interview.
