Foundry worker — Union County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry worker in Union County, New Mexico. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. You will fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch. What we are looking for: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry 4+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Pay around $120 per day, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
