Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Ward County, Texas. Day-to-day duties: • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Pay around $3,800 per month, based on your experience.
