Now hiring: foundry labourer (Illinois)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Christian County, Illinois. What we are looking for: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Your main tasks: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring 4+ years on the tools preferred.
