Immediate opening: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska. On a typical shift you will press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation. Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line We offer $240 per day plus benefits.
