Foundry labourer — Gogebic County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Gogebic County, Michigan. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You will fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 3+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
