Sand plant operator — Dodge County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Dodge County, Nebraska. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Day-to-day duties: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $2,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
