What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Day to day you will set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; read lift plans and method statements before starting; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit.
