GMAW welder — Boone County

Now hiring: we are hiring a GMAW welder in Boone County, Illinois. The job is at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. Day to day you will bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead. What we are looking for: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances 4+ years on the tools preferred.
