Immediate opening: we are hiring a general labourer in City and Borough of Birmingham, England. The job is on a metro and infrastructure project. On the job you will handle: • Bend and tie rebar with binding wire for slabs and columns • Dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel • Backfill and ram down soil around the foundations • Fix and strip shuttering and formwork for beams and columns • Load and unload trucks of cement, steel bar and aggregate Ideal candidate: • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker • Willing to work outdoors in heat, dust and rain • Punctual and ready to do overtime when a pour demands it 3+ years on the tools preferred.
