Foundry worker — Bureau County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a foundry worker in Bureau County, Illinois. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection On a typical shift you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle.
