Flatlock machine operator • Middlesex County, New Jersey

We are recruiting: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in Middlesex County, New Jersey. The job is on a ready-made garment production line. On a typical shift you will change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers. Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory 6+ years on the tools preferred.
