Plant operator — Alachua County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a plant operator in Alachua County, Florida. You will be based in an open-cast mine. On the job you will handle: • Operate the boom, stick and bucket to dig, lift and place material • Work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals • Keep a safe distance from excavation edges and overhead lines • Top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects • Level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines • Load and unload the machine on and off the low-loader safely What we are looking for: • Valid heavy equipment / plant operator licence • Minimum 2-3 years' experience operating earthmoving machinery 4+ years on the tools preferred.
