Vacancy available: we are hiring a tower crane operator in Simpson County, Mississippi. The job is at a container port and shipping yard. Day-to-day duties: • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control • Help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Work out the load weight and the lifting radius • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground What we are looking for: • A good head for heights for tower crane work • Able to read load charts and lifting plans • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
