Join our team: shakeout operator (Texas)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Guadalupe County, Texas. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal 1+ years on the tools preferred.
