Panel welder — St. Helens

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a panel welder in St. Helens, England. You will be based at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. Requirements: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • ITI in welder trade or equivalent On a typical shift you will check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration; change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding. Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
