Blocklayer — Kanawha County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a blocklayer in Kanawha County, West Virginia. The job is at a renovation and extension job. Day-to-day duties: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
