Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon welder in Pottawatomie County, Kansas. The job is at a stainless steel fabrication shop. Day-to-day duties: • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required Requirements: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
