Foundry worker — Banner County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry worker in Banner County, Nebraska. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Requirements: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
