Foundry labourer • Alcona County, Michigan

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Alcona County, Michigan. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
