Join our team: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Stephenson County, Illinois. You will work at a brass and bronze foundry. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal On a typical shift you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
