Pipe TIG welder • Oldham County, Texas

We are recruiting: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Oldham County, Texas. You will work at a busy fabrication workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal You should have: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Full-time with occasional weekends.
