Immediate opening: brick and block layer (Virginia)

Now hiring: we are hiring a brick and block layer in City of Charlottesville, Virginia. Requirements: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) The role involves laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses. Part-time with flexible hours. Pay around $3,900 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
