Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts On a typical shift you will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together.
