Bricklayer — Macon County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a bricklayer in Macon County, North Carolina. What we are looking for: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools The role involves: • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
