Immediate opening: we are hiring a vertical milling machine operator in Clay County, Kansas. The job is at a fabrication and machining plant. Your main tasks: • Keep in-process inspection records and log production counts • Set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter • Read engineering drawings and GD&T to plan the machining sequence • Set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Select and fit end mills, face mills and slot drills into collets and arbors You should have: • 2-3 years' hands-on milling experience • Good eyesight and steady hands for close-tolerance work Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
