Sewing machine operator — Southampton County

Now hiring: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Southampton County, Virginia. Ideal candidate: • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams Day-to-day duties: • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
