Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Marion County, Illinois. Day to day you will control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints. Ideal candidate: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Full-time with occasional weekends. Pay around $2,600 per month, based on your experience.
