Foundry worker — Newry Mourne and Down

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry worker in Newry Mourne and Down, Northern Ireland. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Day-to-day duties: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Six days a week, one day off.
