Great opportunity: we are hiring a halal butcher in Crook County, Oregon. You will work at a halal meat counter. Day to day you will debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
