Great opportunity: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Monona County, Iowa. You will be based in a heavy machinery workshop. On a typical shift you will secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller. Ideal candidate: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
