GTAW welder — Middlesbrough

Vacancy available: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Middlesbrough, England. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Day-to-day duties: • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through What we are looking for: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
