Die-casting operator wanted in Redcar and Cleveland

Now hiring: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Redcar and Cleveland, England. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities What we are looking for: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Full-time with occasional weekends. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Walk-in interviews this week.
