Core maker — Potiskum

Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Potiskum, Yobe State. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Your main tasks: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
