Brick and block layer — Blaenau Gwent

We are recruiting: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Blaenau Gwent, Wales. You will work on a new-build development. Day to day you will setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod. What we are looking for: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools 3+ years on the tools preferred.
