Foundry operative — Otter Tail County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Otter Tail County, Minnesota. You will work at a busy iron foundry. Ideal candidate: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day to day you will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes. Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Pay around $4,200 per month, based on your experience. Meals and transport allowance provided. Part-time with flexible hours.
