Blocklayer — Douglas County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a blocklayer in Douglas County, Nevada. You will be based at a renovation and extension job. The role involves erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation. Requirements: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
