Pressman — Douglas County

Now hiring: we are hiring a pressman in Douglas County, Illinois. The job is at a textile finishing unit. On a typical shift you will check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; give each garment a final press before packing; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts. What we are looking for: • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep 4+ years on the tools preferred.
