Presser — Aiken County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a presser in Aiken County, South Carolina. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets The role involves: • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
