Metal caster — Stearns County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a metal caster in Stearns County, Minnesota. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. What we are looking for: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards The role involves: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
