Crane rigger — Leelanau County

Now hiring: we are hiring a crane rigger in Leelanau County, Michigan. The job is in a steel fabrication yard. The role involves: • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area What we are looking for: • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams Rotating shifts.
