Great opportunity: we are hiring a pressman in Northwest Arctic Borough, Alaska. You will be based in a tailoring workshop. You should have: • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment On the job you will handle: • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board Part-time with flexible hours.
