Core maker wanted in Lincoln County

Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Lincoln County, Minnesota. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills Day-to-day duties: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
