Tower crane operator — Wicomico County

Join our team: we are hiring a tower crane operator in Wicomico County, Maryland. The job is at a shipbuilding yard. On a typical shift you will rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams; carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block; keep a safe distance from overhead power lines; help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone; park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift; read and interpret the load chart before every lift. Ideal candidate: • Strong attention to safety and load limits • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts Six days a week, one day off.
